The aim of the work was to create a piercing mill models with new design of the direction bars and the mandrel, to run a verification calculation with the given parameters.
The prepared mill model was used to simulate one of the technologies. It was found that the thickness of the pipe wall had a tolerance deviations above 5%. Also place on the working surface of the mandrel was found, which was not in contact with the metal and needed to be optimized prior to manufacture.
The mill model was transferred to the plant, where they held a computer test other technologies and identified the optimal one.
Software use during 1 year helped to save on the experiments about 27 000 000 RUB.
